Try this delicious recipe for Valentine’s Day Hearts. Jus-Rol puff pastry hearts, crème fraiche and fresh strawberries – ready in 20 minutes.


Ingredients

  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 Jus-Rol™ Puff pastry ready rolled sheet
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 egg beaten to glaze
  • Small check mark in a circle icon caster sugar sprinkled
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 creme fraiche
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 150g strawberries
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 50g plain chocolate
Equipment required
  • Pastry Brush
  • Parchment Paper
  • 9cm Heart Cutter
  • Knife

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 220ºC (200ºC for fan assisted ovens)/Gas M 7.
  2. Unroll pastry sheet and cut out approx. 10 hearts with a 9cm wide cutter.
  3. Prick each heart with a fork, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle lightly with sugar. Place on a baking sheet and bake for approx. 10 minutes until risen and golden, allow to cool.
  4. Slice the strawberries, and split heart in half through it’s equator.
  5. Sandwich the heart together again with crème fraiche and sliced strawberries.
  6. Melt the chocolate and drizzle across the tops of the hearts, serve two per person with a few strawberries for garnish.
