Where did cinnamon rolls come from?
Sweet rolls have been popular across Europe for centuries, but it was only when cinnamon made its way to the continent from Asia in the early 1900s did the cinnamon roll as we know it start to take shape! The official origin is hotly debated but many attest the birthplace of cinnamon rolls to be Sweden, where they are called “kanelbulle”, and are a well-known staple of Scandinavian baking.
