Caramel Apple & Pecan Pastries

Try these simple and easy caramel apple and pecan tarts for the perfect Autumnal treat. Made with Jus-Rol Gluten-Free Puff Pastry and ready to enjoy in just 30 minutes!


Ingredients

  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 280g packet of Jus-Rol Gluten-Free Puff Pastry
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 2 medium red apples
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 50g pecans
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 jar of ready made caramel sauce (You can also make your own!)
  • Small check mark in a circle icon 1 egg for egg wash
Equipment required
  • Baking tray or baking sheet
  • Baking paper
  • Pastry brush
  • Knife

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius.
  2. Unroll the pastry and with a knife, cut evenly into six squares.
  3. Lightly score the outside of each square to create a border. Do not cut all the way through the pastry.
  4. Add a tbsp of caramel sauce into the centre of the pastry and spread evenly. Layer the sliced apples on top at an angle and add some whole and crushed pecans. Egg wash the edges of the pastry and place in the oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and well risen.
  5. Leave on a wire rack to cool before dusting with icing sugar and drizzling more caramel sauce on top. Once cool, serve immediately.
